They say they finally found peace like its a good thing. It is not a good thing. This person strived, loved, lost, cried, laughed, and did the best they could at living their life while they are alive.
No matter what religion says this was the only life this person will ever get on this earth
Still all that stuff is to make the survivors feel better

Funerals are about the living.
That said, occasionally there is truth to saying someone is 'at peace'. I lost a friend to liver cancer last fall and that applied to him. He was in so much pain and was wasting away...most of us were glad he didn't have to endure it anymore and were comforted by the fact that his physical pain was over.
