I have a friend that is a corporate lawyer. I've know him all my life. He does a ton of pot and had done all kinds of drugs growing up. I told him drugs are bad and had handicapped him from reaching his full potential. He owns a house on a private lake and has all kinds of toys. He looked at me and laughed. I tried to explain that if he had never done drugs he probably could have been president or owner of one of the corporations he works for. I don't think he understood me because he was high.

People that don't believe in god handicaps themselves the same way. They can't reach their full potential and they don't even realize it. But then again what does it matter.

Tell me which potential I'm lacking by not believing in god. Be specific.

This seems like something you could test by looking at history. I am not sure the theory holds up all that well.

What has your drug abuse and your friends drug abuse to do with religion?

Other then that people who stop taking drugs often need a crutch in the form of religion to stay away from drugs because they are weaklings.

'what ifs' are stupid and meaningless

it doesnt surprise me that a religious person would think his 'what if' scenario is the truth

The "what if" scenario is never a good argument to make. By almost all standards, your friend is successful. Which pretty much means you're wrong.

EDIT: Elo beat me too it about the "what ifs." Sorry, I didn't read your post before I posted.

I don't even know you dude. But from your posts I do know you drink and drug too excess. Drugs block potential.

What handicaps you is not having an open mind. Whether you're a closed-minded atheist or a close-minded theist.

It doesn't surprise me Paul and IMHO are both wrong about this.

I asked you in the other thread. Tell me how much I'm doing. How do you know what excess is??

Stop trying to act all " holier than thou" it's stupid.

You may have ruined your life because you can't control yourself, but it's not the case for me.

I'm a successful young man, I have my shit together. I'm perfectly healthy ( I'll even bet that I'm healthier than you) I live a great life surrounded by great friends and family.

Tell me, by not doing drugs, what would be better?
