I was on a job. I noticed this gal was locked out of her car. So I started helping her get the door unlocked. As I am working on it I hear a fire truck coming down the street. I said, "Where's the fire, ha ha". then she told me she called them to help get her keys out. she was late for some appointment or something.

they should require cellphone companies to deactivate the emergency call button on cellphones.
thats where most of the problem comes from.

It's already a crime to abuse the 911 system.
The problem is people need to realize what constitutes an emergency and what does not.

No, 911 doesnt have to dispatch anyone. If someone calls in with a lie then thats another story.

3/4 of our calls are non emergencies. Its a free trip into town or a free breakfast at a hospital. The majority of calls we get are from people with no insurance so they dont give a rats ass about how much it costs.

I would be fully ok with this so long as it was also a 1000 dollar fine for flicking cigarette butts out of your car window. Loss of licenses after 2nd offense.
