I'm from Milwaukee and I have "met" Dahmer. His Grandma used to work at the Ambrosia candy company. So did I. I knew Mrs. Dahmer from the break room and I saw him bring his grandma lunch several times. He eventually got a job there but I was gone by then.
She was very normal, he was fairly creepy.

Another interesting fun fact. My actual last name is very close to Dahmer. In fact it even sounds a bit like Dahmer, more so with many accents. There have been times once people knew I was from Milwaukee that I have been asked if I was related to Dahmer, to which I usually spell my last name and put that rumor right to bed.
