I forgot my book and there was a local newspaper in the waiting room. 50 % of the paper were photographs of local people doing social things (e.g. a bar mitzvah, someone going on vacation etc). The crime report was so trivial, I cant believe it was reported. a five dollar off mailing coupon was stolen from a mailbox. Another 25% of the paper are real estate and insurance agents smiling in front of a sold sign or a life insurance policy.

What was the headline in your local newpaper. Chandler ( a private school) Dad's take on 8th grade basketball team was the highlight of mine. There were approximately 3 pages of photographs of people in a golf tournament.

I just thought the Outpost might like to know this crap.

Local papers are great for reporting on town business, local politics and schooling issues. But that stuff doesn't happen everyday.

That said, I don't see how it's all that different then the national media. So far, you've decribed:

a) Entertainment News
b) Crime Reports
c) Sports
d) Advertising

I'm sure if we had the full topic listing, we could add:
e) Politics
f) Light Humor
g) Opinions\Letters to the editor

Doesn't sound all that different from any newspaper. It's just not as glamorous.

Haha, that sounds like my little towns newspaper. They had to cut it down to a twice a week printing because life is simple here..hehe.
