There may be a simple answer to this, but I've not heard it.

If you were on the phone with someone who told you that someone was following them and then suddenly the line went dead and that person vanishes, wouldn't you be calling the police/hospitals/etc the same day? (if not immediately after confirming that they've not come home)

Well, there's a lot of conflicting info on when the ID was made. The three day thing is what I heard first.

The latest seems to be that the police knew who it was almost immediately and used his name in their reports. but, for some reason, he was listed as a John Doe in the morgue, and that, the next morning, when his father called to report him missing, the police came to his house and told him about the shooting.

I've also heard the police got his height and weight from his driver's license and I've heard he wasn't carrying his driver's license.

I've heard the police couldn't find out who he was from his cell because it was locked. I've also heard they just sealed it in an evidence bag without doing anything with it.

It does seem pretty definite, though, that his father was notified the next day. Perhaps he made the actual physical ID that Monday? That would be where the three day rumor started.

Yeah, there is so much conflicting info on this case, it makes it hard to know anything at all.

I still want to know why the girlfriend didn't say something sooner.

This is very un-outposty, but I think we all know it is the truthiest part of this case.

He was a known drug dealer who attacked a citizen protecting his home/area. The mess this story is in is all a smokescreen fighting to keep a simple truth from american minds.

We should shoot violent drug dealers.

Sansfear when a story has conflicting news cycles and constant changes you can start to observe the motive behind the stories coming out. Some fall into easy categories like damage control but some can border on mass manipulation. You must separate away from the main stream's hourly opinion makers but you've got to know what they are saying in order to calculate out what they want people to think. Every new development becomes a new pebble in the pond, the patterns and sides map themselves out as ripples intersect and some strengthen some other waves while others dash each other apart. Watch the game, not the ball.

So in other words, you don't know anything either, so you're just going to make whatever crap you want. Gotcha.

Yes. It's much better than letting the confusion trick my brain into not giving a crap enough to have an opinion. I'll wait till after the News at 12 for your reply(guess you're needing a pity fix)

Everybody knows once the media gets involved in a high profile murder case they add all this bullsh*t so when this happens you have to watch the story on each news station to get a little piece of the truth.
