I say : "Give us this day our daily bread," when work gets tough. I almost start every work day with this little thought. What flows after I say this is a shittstorm of anything goes. However, somehow it is alright. 
When I do creative work, I use a variation, I say: "Thy will be done." This puts me in the right orientation.

Yes it is. The Lord's prayer is an amazing collection of words, if you break it down.
Prayer captures the suffering essence of ordinary life and benediction (Grace) flows back to the person praying. This is Spiritual respiration.
Try it Tyche. This time of year all hell breaks loose for us. Understand you are an angel helping those with crazy tax laws and a strange bureaucracy. This is a daily bread of sorts for them and us.

Because saying hail marys leads to you being shot in the back of the head and thrown overboard I assume.

What is interesting is God's fingerprints are all over the gun that shot Fredo. Anyone traveling a monotheistic spiritual road must confront this contradiction. IThe problem goes away if you remove phenomenal existence. But you are still left with a God who creates assassins.
