ActiveX error

Lately a few of my friends installed Daoc to play again, and after a day or so they started recieving an "ActiveX error"upon game launch attempt. Was wondering if anyone knew any possible fix since all the suggestions i am finding are like dating back to 2007 and whatnot so been quite unsuccessful as of lately.
