For Korts
Once you have downloaded the database, you need to put the folder where it belongs
On Win7 the default location is as follows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Kort's Spellcraft Calculator\items\
put in appropriate folder for each realm

To use this downloaded database, you'll have to manually load the items within Korts. This can be done by:
First select the piece of equipment you wish to change, then
File>Load Item...
select the piece you want, then click open. Viola, item loaded. There are many outdated items, so double check in-game to make sure the stats match.

The actual Ethinarg Search function within Kort's no longer works, you'll have to refer to the above to add the items you want.
I love kort's because I can load the SC gems to my hotbars. But in order to do this you need to have DAoC chat fixer(with char copier)
What I do is copy my ywain characters files back to Guinevere, load the gems, the copy him back to ywain.
Sad to see it such a state of disrepair.
