huh? wasn't there like an official day of mourning when the studio behind this project finally shut down or something?

Gearbox (of Borderlands fame) bought the rights and finished the game. It comes out in a couple weeks.
This was the big announcement at PAX last September.
Hilariously, it was supposed to come out back in April or May and got pushed back to June suddenly like 2 weeks before launch.

Graphics looked kind of weak (particularly the character/vehicle models), but OMG A CHANCE TO FINALLY SEE NOOD WOMEN!
