On both my comps, fresh install of Decal Alpha 4 and Castaway, when I start the bot it begins to self buff but gets hung on Willpower VI and casts that over and over until mana runs out. Never casts S2M. This is with self buffs set to level VI's, as neither of my mages have willpower VII.


All settings are correct, I read on Castaway forums where the bot could get hung in a loop if trying to cast a level VII profile when you didn't know a particular level VII spell.


But shouldn't setting it to buff iteslf in VI's prevent that problem?


EDIT: This is from the Castaway manual:


"Bot buffs self using Level VI spells - Instead of using level VII spells to buff, the bot uses level VI's. This option is an older setting and by customizing your buffself array in Botspells.xml you have even more control over how your bot buffs itself."


This entry from the manual makes it sound like I can toggle from VI's to VII's - but there is no level VI array in the XML, and i can't have two 'buffself' arrays, unless the schema supports 'buffself' and 'buffselfVI' or somesuch. I see no documentaion to that effect.


So, I assume that I need to edit the 'buffself' array and the 'stamina2mana' arrays, changing them to level VI spells, until my bot can cast VII's?

The set self buffs to level VI currently isn't working, you'll have to manually setup the files for level VI buffs. It is being worked on, probably won't be in the next alpha release but the one after that.

Aldo, you can create a new array called buffselfVI and tell the bot to use that instead of the buffself array, See this page in the manual: http://www.buwahaha.com/Castaway/manual/The_Bot_My_Buffs.htm


You have to turn on the Enable Creature/Life Self Spells (which has been renamed to make more sense, just can't remember it right now), and set the self buff you want in the array.

Thank you. I haven't run a bot since I used Insane-Bot to cast uber VI's in Rithwic years ago. Castaway is a great program.
