How difficult would it be to create a plug-in that would monitor chat for globals and then Send them Via Instant Messenger (Aim, MSN, ICQ, whatever), to your screen name? For instance if you have a trade bot/buffbot account you frequently have logged on, you could add your friends/allegience/whatever to the plug-in and then they would register a Screen name on whatever messenger you were using. Then, whenever there was global spam while that plug-in was running, it would send a copy/paste of the global spam to everyone on the list via messenger.

This would be a great way to help some of us catch a few of the live events.

Depends if the IM application has API's available for develoers to do something like that.

I already plan to do something similar to this via IRC, it's just not high up on my priority of plugins list.

It could just send an email to your cell phone, much easier than trying to use IM.

Not everyone has a cellphone though. I know I got rid of mine because I no longer had a need for one. And I know there used to be a Decal Based AIM client for use in-game, so there should be SOME way to implement this for IM's. I'm by no means a programmer though so I have no clue how hard this would be or what would be involved.
