Ok, I posted this in the Magic Shop forum on ACVault and one response recommended I try it agian here. Here goes:

Ok, I know that all the critters have different vunerabilities to different kinds of attacks. Some are obvious (mattakers get burned by fire, use piercing an olthoi's shell, etc). But most I don't have a clue on. What's the best way of attacking a drudge? Fire? How does acid compare to frost against you're average tumerok?

As mages with war-magic we have all types of attack at our disposal, but that doesn't provide much help if there's no way of finding out which method works best on your target. It seems like the system was designed for mages to study their target and hit them with the most appropriate vulns and bolts (or arcs or streaks or whatever). But I can't figure out any way of telling what works best other than trying to guessimate my average damage for each attack against the same type of critter.

Is there a database of this stuff out there? I've seen some beasiteries online, but they only give the level, hit points, magic-defense and such of the critter. I can find out all that stuff by examining it. I want to know whether it should be frozen or roasted.

Any help out there?

Target Info uses the database from Crossroads of Dereth to show you the vulnerabilities of the creature you have selected.

One could always try out each of their spells to see which does the most damage. Try without vulns at first since the object is to test them out - not single shot them to death. It'll get you in training for those patch days when you run into a critter that you can only see his ankles. If you see there isn't much difference between elements - then it's just that they could be equally resistant to those elements.

Good Luck!

I'm old school....if it's furry use fire, if it's cold use heat, if it's hot use cold.

doesn't always work, so as it was stated above just test your rends on a critter, watch the damage.
