When I'm playing AC my sound will go off just about every day sometime while playing. I have to restart the computer to get the sound working again, but I know it will turn off again.


I am running on MS XP Media Center Edition system, if that is helpful information.


Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure what other information I would need to provide.

You may want to see if there are updated drivers for your sound card.

You can also click on start then run and type dxdiag, you can check your dx9 settings there and test it.

I have noticed that happen, if you have the tick for 'only play sounds when active' and you alt-tab a bit.

turn your hardware acceleration all the way down in your soundcard config.
