Hi all,

Recently changed my ISP to a different company and they sent me a wireless router. Plugged the cable in (not using a wireless card) and all good, all toasty. Until AC. I knew I had to open TCP/UDP ports 9000-9013, so that's the first thing I did, and it worked...to an extent. Now everytime I restart my machine, I have to go to the config page for the router, remove the AC port forwarding entry, add it again (under a different name) and restart my PC. Somtimes this'll work. SSometimes it won't. At the moment it's driving me nuts.

The router is a Netgear WGR614v6. If anyone has ANY info that might help in any way, PLEASE post it!

Thanks!

You may have to do a little research, but I remember seeing something about this router not working with AC.

If you are having to forward ports from your router, you will most likely want to set up your machine with a static IP address to forward those ports to. Otherwise, each time you reboot your machine, you run a risk of getting a different IP address, in which case you will need to go into the router, and re-forward those ports to the new address.

Yep, I've done that. And I read all the entrieds I could find on portforward about AC and about this router. I found a firmware upgrade, I think I'll try that now...

Thanks!
