I haven't tried MakeIt, there is something about needing magic to heal.
As my trade character doesn't have magic but does have healing I was wondering if there is a program which can make use of healing in making THEs

You might want to simply use cooking and make Elaborate Health Field Rations, they take less work and heal for the same amount.
Recipe:
Use Hot Sauce on Dried Rations (Elaborate or Simple) = Dried Health Rations
Use Cooking Pot on Dried Rations to make the Field Rations. Makes 25 rations.

Its what I use and it works great for me. It allows the use of healing kits to regain health. And it actually lies down for regaining stamina.

IIRC, Make It! can use healing kits as well.
