if i changed the affinity and had each client on one processor instead of both using both would it run smoother?

or does it really matter?

3.2 DC with HT P4

512 MB Pc2700 ram (i could use some more)

7200 rpm drive.

Geforce III 64mb (i know i need a new one)

It's possible.. if you could do it.

Since AC is a single-threaded process, it really wouldn't benefit from a dual-core or hyperthreading CPU directly.

I don't think it would "hurt" anything

so letting it try and HT or allocate two processors isnt going to improve anything, infact it sounds like trying to split it up will hurt perfomance.

i'll try, i can always change it back right

AC is an old program that was orignally designed not only to be single threaded but to be the only process running. This thing was originally designed for DOS and Win95.

Plus you are trying to run to instances of AC with a 64 Meg video card. That really marginal. Same thing with the memory.

It would be interesting so see what happens for you. My machine has enough memory and nice video card. I just do not run two AC clients on one machine. I have multiple machines and each gets its own client.

it is working ok, i logged one, then started decal and logged the other with decal running, using one to yeild for my other guy. works alright.

i really do need a new video card and more memory tho.

but the processor works great.

AxeTheDead: Dual Core is not the same as Hyperthreading... Dual Cores have two physical cores inside the CPU and can simultaneously perform tasks. Loading AC up on each of the cores would be like starting AC on 2 separate CPUs. Hpyerthreading however uses context switching to actually switch rapidly between tasks more efficiently. It's still 1 core, 1 CPU, 1 processing stream, but with better multi-tasking functionality.

Also.. be careful with the pocket mage.. yielding/vulning on one bot account is technically against the CoC and you can be banned for it.
