Long ago, in a Decal far, far away, there was a plugin named AKA, written by FunkinGonuts, IIRC.


"A.K.A allows you to set up aliases for hard to remember character names. For example, "/tell Khaza al-Qunat, Hi!" you could set up and alias so that all you had to type is "/aka kaq, Hi!" A.K.A also allows you to set up aliases for groups, so that you can send an @tell to several different people all at the same time."


It's the final function that I'm interested in. It allowed me to create a Group, for example "Leaders," add people to that group, then type "/aka leaders, NPC found at X,Y coords." The tell then went to everyone listed in that group.


Without mentioning the....errm...problems with the chat channels, is there any way this functionality could be added to one of the existing plugins?

Heh, I'd already decided it was a good idea, and started work on it. It was fairly quick and easy to do, it's not a big plugin. Here it is:

It doesn't work in exactly the same way though- with mine, you just do /tell <alias>, whatever, just as you would if it were their real name. If the alias is for more than one name, it'll /tell them all.
