the vendor issue is more likely a messages.xml issue, but since I'm not the messages.xml guy, I haven't been able to fix it.
I'd recommend that anyone with any specific information on the protocol changes go to #ACDev and discuss them with kgober so he can put them into the messages.xml and get the new messages posted.

The problem seems to occur when you try to set your peas as the item to sell.
I can set the item to buy, but it doesn't know I've selected a pea to sell. Since this is prior to the interaction with the vendor, my opinion is it isn't related to messages.xml.
