i havnt been able to play ac for a couple of weeks, as i got new internet. the modem i was using (speedsteam 4200) i was told was a pos and had to get another. i did yesterday, went off to Jb hi-fi n got a Belkin Adsl modem. plugged it in awesome ac works.


logged off and then it wont connect or update, sometimes i get to the character screen and after i click on a character it goes black then D/C. it kinda started when i put decal on but im not sure weather thats the problem or if its some random ports on the new modem that wont let it work or something?


anyhelp?

Go thru the trouble shooting steps:


Exit Decal and see if you go into the game without it.


If you still have the problem, check to see what changed in your system between the time the game worked with the modem and now. (You can use XP's System Restore to go back to a point in time just after installing the new modem if need be).


If the game starts with no problem, it's probably a firewall issue.

uninstalled it now it wont let me install because i have internet version 7 wtf.

Select the modem you've got, select Asheron's Call, and it'll give you details instructions on how to make sure your modem's configured correctly to work with AC.

All the old versions on disk can no longer be used. Even the newest Throne of destiny disk is useless. The Throne of Destiny (newest( looks for Internet explorer 6.) It did not consider that there would someday be Internet Explorer 7. Either hack your registry to make IE7 think it is IE6 (that is extremely not suggested) . go to http://turbine.fuzeqna.com/asheronscall/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=1163 and download the newer IE7 campatable copy. do It soon since the new upgrade is commng out on the 21 a few days.


The issue is that when Turbine made the disks IE 6 was out but not IE7. They really screwed up bad in that they did not allow for newer versions of IE6. Go downlod the new version that is IE 7 compatable. that is tha safe way.
