Just wondering if anyone is playing on a laptop with an ATI x1250 graphics...

I am thinking about getting a laptop and found one in my price range with this graphics card.

I know I won't be able to play like Crysis or stuff like that just wondering if it was decent for AC.

With a single client and low settings, you can still get by on some pretty old video hardware. I suspect that you'd be fine. One of my systems is a ti4600, it still runs AC great with a few clients. The only concern I'd have is memory...does it have dedicated memory or shared memory, and how much?

Getting details about the memeory was liek pulling teeth. Some of the X1250 cards have 128 of its own and then can share up to like 700 something of system memeory.


Sadly Unless I can get the cash all in the bank before the sales over I won;t be getting the laptop cause my local stores ran me around to 2 locations where they showed them still in stock but had none... but 3 hours away in a college town they had a bunch of them... college kids have credit and buy super machines not little machines like this one... stupid retailers. Dunno if i wanna order on the web and then deal with the problems I might have ro just wait till I find another sale..

Shared memory is bad. Generally, if you get something without shared memory it'll probably be fine.

Depends on how much memory you have in the laptop.


AC runs just fine with 512MB of memory and a shared memory card (ATI 9000). Of course I have the graphics turned way down... but it's just for my trade bot, so not a big requirement
