I just got one of those new free trail accounts and cant get the launcher to patch. getting the Error A problem occured while patching 0x800141008


Tech support is closed for the weekend was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. Really dont want to waste 3 days of the freeness not able to use the game.. I almost positive that its something to do with my personal settings. Just not sure what im missing.

I run windows Vista have plenty of space and enough processor speed. I have direct x 10.

Am i still missing something? btw i downloaded AC version from the site.

Its your anti-virus.


The ONLY one so far (I believe) is AVG. I've tried Trend Micro and I got an error while patching. You will have to uninstall, NOT just disable, but uninstall it in order for AC to run.


I know because I got Vista 64x last Sunday and ran into the exact problem.

Thanks i will try that. this anti-virus came with the system its mcafee. Ill let you know if it works
