You're not familiar with the way the .NET Framework works.
1.0 is a different product than 1.1. Just as 1.1 is a different product than 2.0 which is similar to 3.0 and 3.5
installing 1.1 is NOT a downgrade if you already have 2.0. Applications built on 1.1 need the 1.1 framework in order to work properly. They can be installed side-by-side. Please use the link on my website to get the proper version.
