I am running AC inside VMware on an XP install. Runs great and fine until I turn on decal, after this I see decal on login and have full audio, but there is no video whatsoever from the client... any ideas?

I ran into the same problem with the latest vmware workstation, which supposedly supports dx9.0c. I played around with it for a couple months and never did find an answer.

know a couple of folks in ac that have tried running AC/decal in VM but i don't think any of the ever succeeded. problem seems to be with decal.

MAYBE the next release, as yet tbd, will fix that. good luck on your quest.

It probably doesn't support lockable backbuffers. The fact that the current version of Decal uses them is the same reason you can't utilize SLI capability with Decal.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't really doing it out of necessity so I'll just play the 'normal' way. Thanks!
