Hello, im posting for a friend who just got a new computer and is trying to get asherons call loaded on it. He has windows 7 and is on a 64bit.

His problem is after installing asherons call he goes to the login screen, enters his info and clicks next. It patches the launcher and takes him to the world selection screen, He then clicks on the world he wants to enter and then the launcher closes and nothing happens.


He has everything installed properly and is installing asherons call to C://Games not program files. He has his UAC turned off and no fire walls on. He has two computers that are both hooked to 2 in 1 router/modem. He has port forwarding turned on on the windows 7 system. Asherons call works just fine on his other computer, its just the windows 7 system that's having this problem. Ive out of ideas for him to try and we have exhausted or resources. If anyone has any idea whats wrong here or needs to know more info about the problem please let me know and i will post it.

Does he have decal installed? An export would help if he does. When doing the export check the box at the top of the export screen that says show locations.

Look over this page and make sure you have the forwarding setup right. It walks through step by step on how to forward ports for that router for AC. The most common mistake is that people forward the tcp ports but they need to forward the udp ports.

I'm Pretty sure he doesn't have decal installed. I liked him to the post and told him to make sure the forwarding is done correctly. I'll post back after he checks that.

From what you described it doesn't seem that he has the correct version of direct x installed.


Edit: Found the post I was thinking about, here it is....


Need to run the "dxdiag" command and see on the Display tab if the "Direct3D Acceleration" is "Enabled" ..


The dxdiag can be run from the Start Menu/Run. If it is disabled, the aclauncher will run for logging in .. but the acclient will never start. And there is no error message from the acclient when this happens. The aclauncher finish the login and just disappears.


Either the graphics card cannot do Direct3D or it the graphics needs to be enabled to do so.

Yea he has followed that set up when installing. He is getting the directx now, ill repost shortly.
