After buying a new AMD 64 w/windows xp, I installed decal and dual log and it worked for a while. Suddenly I started getting blue stop screens. Outside of Firefox and Adobe flash player, decal related files are all I have installed.

Windows was burned into this system before it was shipped to me so am unsure if all the needed windows files have been installed.

Whats the best way to uninstall and does windows xp ship with .Net installed or are all builds downloaded?

Post a Decal Export (check the box next to Location for path info).

Location of installed files with an XP machine isn't going to matter. But we do need the export.


Seriously doubt its an AC/Decal problem causing blue screens. Try dl'ing malwarebytes and running a scan. Some malware will block you from being able to access A/V software (this will be a red flag if it's the case). I got some crap on my system a few weeks back that started causing blue screens. I ended up just completely reinstalling.


If it comes up clear, make sure you run Windows Update and install all priority updates.

most windows loads do not have .net installed when they ship. Even with oem builds, you should always run all of the windows updates until there are no more to be run.

I had my hard drive, cpu fan and thermal replaced but am now unable to get a character to load in the game screen - connection to the server has been lost.

Downloaded the Asheron's Call Client Install (475MB)from Turbine support page and installed as admin in C\Game directory. Downloaded the newest DirectX patch from MS. Downloaded and installed .Net1.1 and 2.0 and the 3.5 patch. Have downloaded all XP Pro updates. The ports have been forwarded on my modem.

I have disabled all Virus software and disabled the XP firewall.

Running the launcher without decal as admin fails with the connection error. Running XP as a guest account immediatly fails with auth server unreachable.

Should I uninstall AC and install from the TOD CD instead?

At least I no longer have the BSOD - go figure.
