Unfortunately most of the sample profiles for VT are for high level characters, not a mid level character like mine which means that none of them really work well for low to mid level characters (they keep on looting 355 req wands for example).

Is there a way to migrate an alinco loot profile to VT so I can create the loot profile using Alinco's much friendlier UI and then tweak it using VT (so I can add reqs like nether damage to wands, etc)?

There are a few sample profiles that contain great examples that will show you what to do on Virindi's Wiki. You should also go read the pages about the Classic Looter. If you sit down and take the time, once you understand it, you'll love it. Just takes a little time to figure out how it all works.

My biggest issue with the classic looter is the amount of time it takes to iterate on the profiles - since there is no in-game editor, I have to restart AC every time I want to tweak the profile and that's a pain in the neck.

You could run AC in windowed mode... use VT classic looter to change and save the profile, then reload the profile on VT while you're still in game. Or you could alt-tab out and do it, but i think it's easier in windowed mode. Especially if you are using any VT property dump numbers.

You don't have to restart the client, regardless of which mode you run AC in. Alt tab, edit the profile, then alt tab back in, and simply drop down the menu and click the profile again. You will get a message in blue saying such and such profile loaded. There is no reason to restart the client.
