Hello,

I recently had to do a complete windows reinstall from disk due to a nasty crash.

I had decal running well on the old configuration of windows 7 x64, but am having trouble with the prerequisite files this time around. It seems that the link to the msxml files is no longer current, and when I search the MS download page it brings up a number of downloads. I can't figure out which one(s) are the correct files to DL to get decal up and running smoothly again. Can anyone help with links to the correct downloads?

Thanks in advance for any help....

Bumping - Is it just a silly question...or does no one know?

The Microsoft Download Center is a good place to start to look for their download links. But, very quickly, you will discover that there are a dozen variations of both 3.0 and 4.0. Software Development Kit (SDK) and Redistribution Package along with a boat load of Service Packs. Add to it, version 4 does not supersede version 3. The following quote from Microsoft describes the differences ..

Microsoft posted:

MSXML 4.0 SP2 does not replace MSXML 3.0 because some obsolete and non-conformant features are no longer supported. You may run MSXML 4.0 and MSXML 3.0 and earlier versions concurrently.

The following MSXML 4.0 link may be one you are looking for .. dated 2003

As for MSXML 3.0 (let alone its last release of SP7), Microsoft Download Center became troublesome. I found the following link at Download.com, dated 2007.

Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 7 (SP7) - Download.com

Thanks a ton - This helped tremendously - with that DL anyway - Now I just need to figure out why installation of MS Visual C++ causes AC to hang at login...

Post a Decal export when you have a chance.
