Had a long "vacation in the desert" on the government's dime. (yay sand!)
Honorably discharged from US military (yay freedom!).
Joined veteran's association.
Went to university. (yay school!)
Played lots of video games.
Graduated from university- B.S. in computer animation (yay knowledge!).
Had a free surgery. Thanks VA! (yay socialized medicine- funny how all of the old people at the VA hospital watch Fox and curse socialism while they wait for their appointments).
Got a job- software engineer. (yay money! Yay capitalistic corporations!)
Played lots more video games.
Created lots of programs supporting Medicaid (yay socialism!) while being employed by a corporation (yay capitalism!) contracted by the government.

Became a drunk
Drank a lot
Retired
Posted almost 50,000 boring comments on a message board (many while drunk)
Masturbated a lot (sometimes while drunk)
Watched the Blackhawks win the cup (totally sober, wtf?)
Talked to this hot woman once (yep, while drunk)
...
...
...um, guess that's about it.

Graduated College - 2005

Graduated Law School - 2009 (Had a little time between college and law school, because I graduated college early[end of '05] and started law school in 2006)

Passed the bar exam for California, and was admitted to the bar - 2009

Was an editor for an 85 unit educational curriculum

Tech Writing/Beta Testing for software for a small Biotech firm

Looking for a new, better job


That's the short version, or the version I'm comfortable posting. Take your pick.

well let's see. since 2002 I have:

- joined a synagogue
- gone to Europe
- quit Asheron's Call
- remodeled our house
- had two kids
- gone to China
- hosted three different Thai au pairs (not simultaneously)
- changed jobs once
- learned Perl, SQL, Java, Groovy, Selenium and WebDriver, Geb, Spock, easyb...
- started and quit WoW
- become completely addicted to Doctor Who
- started and quit a gym and started a workout routine at home
- read the entire Harry Potter series, all the Song of Fire and Ice books, a bunch of Neal Stephenson books, etc., etc.
- posted way too much on this board
- quit MySpace, joined Facebook, joined G+, joined Twitter...
- been through three cell phones and just got my first iPhone
- did a quick stint in a local choral society then quit
- buried my cat
- changed my hairdo a couple of times
- and so on.
