So let's say you go to some 0% net inflation system where you put in enough money to offset increase in resources (people, energy, etc). and you tax away the extra money.

That essentially removes any buffering at all, right? What happens if an actual depression hits? Major storm that kills all peanut fields? How do you support the disabled?

Seen this before, this is simplistic and not very accurate. If I was explaining things to a 10 year old this might be a decent starting point as long as they understood this wasnt even scratching the surface of how anything actually works.
