question about renting books from amazon

i rented a text for my course and I downloaded it to my main pc through their kindle software. now when I do the same account on my laptop I can't see an option to download it or view it anywhere. when I went to check my active subs and collections it wasn't listed under there.
is it a 1 device thing, am i dumb, or drm?

Think you will need to add it as a device and send it to it....something like that anyway.
