My brother is trying to get internet for his new place. He went to AT&T (the cheapest in the area) and they said they couldn't turn on the internet for over a month. This was with self install. Anyone know why this would happen? Will he run into this with other ISP's, like Comcast?

er...weird. never heard that one...unless they need to run wire or something and they're backed up and can't get someone to do it for that long. longest i've ever heard before though is like a week.

i'd at least try another company and see what they say.

The house he bought is about 100 years old.. lol, but the people before him had internet. Dunno who it was through though.

The problem is that he went with att.
