Yet when I am just wandering around browsing they won't leave me the eff alone? Seriously, was just in Best Buy browsing the DvD section and I needed a stick to fend them off me... yet 2 days ago when I was in there looking at stereos I couldn't find a damn employee to answer even the simplest question for me.

jack the stereo up to max level.. they'll come
I got fed up no one was helping me one day while shopping for rollerblades. So I threw some on and was skating around the store frontwards and backwards... got the attention of several sales people lol

They can't answer questions. They go after the browsers to be rejected and it looks like customer service to their supervisors.
A person with a real question is terrifying though.
