The only difference that matters in this situation with this monitor is that HDMI will transfer the audio component, while DVI wont.

The other factor is HDCP support - if you intend to play blu-ray discs on your PC, you have to make sure that both your video card and monitor support HDCP over DVI, or the discs won't play if the disc requires it.

dont have a blu-ray player on my pc, so that point is moot...lol

Don't think it matters, as long as you've got a set of speakers. But I can't imagine monitor audio being that good anyway.
