From the DOT:
Roadway is bare and wet. Snoqualmie Pass avalanche control work is in progress. Eastbound traffic is stopped near North Bend, milepost 34. Westbound traffic is stopped near Ellensburg, milepost 106. The extended distance of the closure is due to the numerous locations along Snoqualmie Pass that will be treated, and the high avalanche danger caused by rain. Due to nature of this work, a reopening time cannot be estimated.

WTF? Does he make that commute every day? That's like a 2.5 hour drive and 125 miles, one-way!

better than any job he can get in Ellensburg.
My dad worked at plant 2 with people who lived up there as well. My mom talks about the guy and says he never missed a day of work because of road conditions... apparently he would stay on this side if the road was questionable. He musta also gotten pretty damn lucky.

He only comes across 2 days a week now. In the beginning it was Tues/Thurs in Everett and Mond/Wed in Renton. Home on Fri. Now just 2 days a week but he's been told he can work virtual all 5 days in winter if he wants.

A guy that worked for me in Chicago lived in Walnut.....that's a bit over 100 miles each way. Drove to Aurora and took the train into the city however, so at least he didn't have to drive the whole way.
Thought he was crazy, but he did have one hell of a nice house and it cost about 1/10th as much as it would have in the city.
