Super strep pt 2.

44 hours of antibiotics later, it still hurts.
It's like 24 hours in to whatever they give me, I feel better but 48 hours later my throat is telling the antibiotics to eff off. I'm so frustrated right now and now the right side of my tongue hurts.
Every single day that this happens I lose the ability to work and thus support myself. JFC

I was afraid I had strep but I don't. Not had it since I was 14 and I still remember the fire on my throat. It's like you are swallowing hot coals from the BBQ.

Yes, it is. BTW, I've had this since Friday the 2nd. This is the second round of antibiotics from this case.
The first time I was diagnosed was Feb 23. The Z-pack cleared everything up, I thought. On Wednesday, my manfriend came down with strep. He got penicillin. On Friday my throat was hurting. Went back to the incompetent clinic at WalMart because I have no PCP and was given another Z-pack because she thought it was a new case.
What I think it is is a resistant strain, so I went to Urgent Care this time rather than WalMart. They gave me Erythromicin which is similar to the Z-pack, as I understand it. I expressed my concerns and was told they'd call me once my culture was all cool and the sensitivity test was run. That takes 24-48 hours. No call yet. I just called.
This is really upsetting to me since I work with children and what happens is at 24 hours, I get the all clear to go back to work and I do and then at 48ish hours I have to call in sick again.

Yeah, that would suck. You will still be sick, but 24 hours of antibiotics is supposed to make you non contagious. It's sucks that this apparently didn't happen. I know when I had it my throat was burning for about a week.

My sister had strep move from the inside of her throat to the muscles in her neck. She had to go on IV antibiotics. It can get really nasty... Hope the culture comes back soon so they know what to put you on to kick it to the curb.

People shrug me off when I tell them strep can move, and it's nothing to mess around with 
My ex had it travel to his big toe, it totally screwed up his entire foot, gave him a bunion, he had to have surgery several times on it too.
