Freed after 20 years for a murder he did not commit
I think anyone would understand if he was angry and bitter, but imo he has the right outlook.

I didn't read the entire article, but hopefully the government gave him a few million for wrongful imprisonment.

Are you implying that is wrong though?
Everybody rails about how bad government sucks, but the second they accuse somebody of doing something wrong, everybody jumps on the bandwagon.
If you take somebodies time away wrongfully, you better damn well pay for it. Incidentally, this is why I don't believe in the death penalty.

Pretty sure you don't get any sort of meaningful financial return for false imprisonment at least not to the tune of millions of dollars. "My bad, here's minimum wage for each year you were locked up. Good luck."
With his story and apparently good out-look/work-ethic he'll probably do well for himself though...

Texas pays out to the tune of 80k per year for false imprisonment.
Other states have had settlements into the millions of dollars.

I agree, I hope at least he won't ever have to worry about finances for the rest of his life

Impressive.
Also, if the details in that story are true regarding the corrupt police group which caused him to be convicted in the first place, IMO they DEFINITELY owe him a large sum for all that they took from him.
On a side note, impossible as it may be, it would be interesting to see where his life WOULD have ended up had he not been convicted. He admitted to hanging out with a not so good group.
Regardless, cool to see justice ultimately prevail and an innocent man get to walk free. Just too bad it took so long.
