Or nearby? Going to be there in a few weeks and looking for some cheap/fun things to do for a small group (3-5) of young adventurous types. Last time I was in NY I did a lot of the touristy things but I didn't spend all that much time in the city otherwise.

Serious/comical/ridiculous/nonsensical suggestions appreciated.

I grew up in Brooklyn. Most fun thing I ever did there...was move out of there.

Seriously however, I visit often enough, lots of fun cheap stuff to do. Brooklyn Brewery on Friday afternoon, take the water taxi into Manhattan (think it costs like 4 bucks), you can rent bikes at Shore RD Park for about 5 bucks for 4 hours and ride the trails...it's sorta creepy in some spots with perverts and weirdos doing their thing, which makes it pretty awesome, Friday night fish fry at Flatbush Dutch church..all you can eat fish for 8 bucks and cheap beer too, you have to try the doubles at A&A doubles bakery..sketchy neighborhood but the food is amazing and cheap as hell....

Lots of good stuff.

My brother lives in Brooklyn and I have visited a few times.Honestly, you are better off just taking the subway into the East Village in the city. Brooklyn has some good food, but that is about all it offers as far as fun things to do.

Fight white guilt and injustice by going to a Native American casino and gamble your money away.

And if you want to be raped where's the best place to go? I'm talking high quality rape.

Take the subway out toward JFK and hop off a couple of stops early.

With the danger of rape noted, I'll be staying with a friend in Brooklyn who hasn't been there long, which is why I'd like to find things to do nearby. We'll probably venture to other parts of the city as well.
