For people who need background noise when they sleep

On a related note, I recommend using one of those sleep-monitoring apps that you can get on smartphones. I use one for my alarm. It monitors how much you move and depending on how much you move within a 30 minute (able to set) window it'll wake you up if you move enough. The theory being you're in a lighter sleep when you toss and turn and thus will wake up more easily and with less sluggishness. I don't remember how I woke up using a conventional alarm clock so I can't really give a good comparison.

I use the Sleep Machine app on the iPhone. It plays nice, soothing rain sounds and it REALLY helps. Not only does it help me sleep but it helps block out all the sounds in the house (creaking, the cats moving about, neighbours slamming their doors etc) that send my paranoia over 9000. So it's awesome

That sounds cool. Android or ihpone? If droid whats the app?

Oh I think it is Sleep Cycle on Android and iPhone. On Wp7 it is called Sleep Alarm
