I did mine by:
right click it, save image as, name it, and put it in my images folder.

lol to be fair, Pris had to walk me through how to save copied text as a document.
A few days ago. I had no idea you could right click your desktop and do other things.

I right clicked and save it earlier. It saved it as an image file. I have no idea how to save an animated gif to be honest. Is that laughable? Maybe.

You can save your gif the same way, it's just a file.

Whatever you are using to view the icon probably does not handle animations (like windows picture viewer). It is most likely an animated icon if you open it in a browser per-the-norm.
